Does anybody else get teary-eyed when Carol Anne ...

moves through Diane's soul on the staircase? It's such a beautiful moment and JoBeth Williams acts the hell out of it. I still think she deserved an Oscar nomination.

They cut an entire scene upstairs where Marty gets bitten and traumatized some more because the downstairs scene was just too well done. the scariest they could do after that was the noise coming down the stairs and knocking everybody over.

It is one of my favorite scenes in the movie. To actually feel your own child pass through your inner soul and being. And you are so right, her acting was powerful in that scene. As a mother of twins when I catch it on TV, it gives me a lump in my throat,

Even though I loved JoBeth Williams as an actress, and let's face it no one gets that 'overwrought yet lioness~determined' bit down like she does....

The scene still seemed a bit 'overdone' to me. The soul~part is okay, but "I can smell her!" part could have been left out.

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.

Carol Anne's reaction to Tweedy's death. That was my sad moment.

Mine too. She is so sweet putting him in the box.

reply

Yes totally. That scene always makes me cry.

reply

Yes, jo Beth Williams sure was good in that part.

reply

That definitely made me cry. I also cried when they placed Diane and Carol Anne in the water and when Carol Anne wakes up, she says “Hi daddy”- I sobbed.
