Beatles. Because of the range. Pink Floyd is good, but a lot of the work tends to run together--which is fine for conceptual albums, but i mean the entire body of work doesn't ever seem to grow. I suppose I just want more of a story.

The Beatles by a margin. Pink Floyd is the only band that ever came close. I think Queen deserves to be added to the list.

1. Iron Maiden
2. Pink Floyd
3. Led Zeppelin
4. The Who
5. AC/DC

My favourite band is Metallica, but I love all sorts (of rock) really

Just what I was thinking. :P

My personal preference:

1) Led Zeppelin
2) Pink Floyd
3) The Who
4) Iron Maiden
5) AC/DC [Only one out of the group I truly dislike.]

I completely agree with slimshady. Pink Floyd doesn't even get close to the brilliance of AC/DC. Not to even mention Iron Maiden... The shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence.

The Who and Iron Maiden(w/Dickinson) are certainly the most exciting to watch live.

Pete Townshend is easily the best songwriter/composer of the bunch listed.

The best guitar player/composer, Mark Knopfler, is not listed.

Led Zeppelin is over rated, and lifted everything they're famous for.

The others are good too.
