Meantime - made around the same time as Made in Britain and also starring Tim Roth as a shy and backward character totally different to Trevor. Also stars Phil Daniels (Quadrophenia) and a young Gary Oldman as a skinhead.

An Gary Oldman as a real nasty peice of work in the football hooligan drama the Firm.
More recent examples are Football Factory (more football yobbery) and Kidadulthood, which debuts Ray Winestone's daughter following dad's footstep in quality British yob culture
The Long Good Friday isn't as "Yoof", but deals with come-uppance in a similar way, from the same time period. Made in Britain is much more ahead of it's time in terms of direction though - you won't find a more shocking film of that ilk apart from of course Scum.

shareThe french equivalent in La Haine. I really like edgy urban realist cinema, especially about kids coming from broken backgrounds. Made in Britain is one of my faourite films ever.
shareIs La Haine the French equivalent?
shareWell La Haine was about three kids alienated parisian youth. They're not directly comparable in terms of storyline but I think they shore up really well together. I have them both in my collection and I'm very proud of that. Both are stalwart films, monumental achievements for their respective countries.
shareIn terms of storyline, its more like a french version of Boyz N The Hood. the story and direction are far superior however.
shareOne of my favs is ID.

shareThere's a new movie called "This Is England" about a 12 year old kid who becomes a skinhead in 83 and eventually joins the NF. It looks pretty good, I want to see it.
