40 years of ET

I was there. I saw ET at the cinema as a kid (same summer I saw Star Trek II and Dark Crystal. Obviously didnt see all the R rated classics like Blade Runner, The Thing etc). I didnt cry. which that was abit of a thing around at the time 'did you cry during ET?'...'no I did not'.. in fact at the time I couldn't recall any scenes that would make you cry lol. After I was taken to the toy section in a big department store to get an ET toy. There were smooth plushie ones that barely resembled ET that I wanted, but in the end I got a small plastic wind up one (far more realistic looking than the plushie), there were also little ET spaceship 'bauble' toys part of the same set as the wind up ET.
Years later maybe about 10years ago I was in a games arcade trying one of those soft toy 'grabber' game machines that you never win anything on, and unbelievably I won one.. it was an ET plushie! (in a red hoodie, an official one with ET/Universal label/tag, and far more ET looking than those of decades ago)
