As a child, I found this movie very boring

But then when I bought the DVD in 2003 as an 18 year old I couldn't stop watching it, and now is one of my favourite movies. I wonder, was this boring to others as children, but love it as an adult?

I always liked it as a kid, but I just watched it as an adult for the first time in probably fifteen years and it's better than I rememebered.
