This movie makes me physically sick

I remember reading on here a few months ago that someone mentioned this movie made them physically sick. Like an upset stomach or a headache.

I had felt the same things to on several occasions while watching this film. As I'm 20mins into the movie now I'm starting to feel like I have a fever.

Yes there is a slight thought in the back of my mind that it's all in my head. But time and time again this happens to me.

It can only be 1 of two things, or if not both.

A. The score, music, voices, any noise that comes from the movie.

B. The Visuals, sights, special effects, anything you can see from the video.

The only other video/movie/game to every make me feel such a way was "Dark Cloud" for ps2. Funny how both of their names have Dark in them and both revolve around the color purple.

Just a something I thought I'd share.

P.S. I love Jim Henson and I'm a huge fan of the muppet show and fraggle rock, in no way, shape, or form am I knocking this movie or him.

Haven't experienced this with a movie, but the online game GunZ gave me headaches, I believe. It could've been temporary, I suppose, but playing a somewhat similar game (at least it's very similar GunZ's Quest Mode), Devil May Cry, I also experienced a headache.

The latter is the most overrated game franchise I know of, by the way. Just throwing that out there.

I feel drained after seeing it... and very unsettled throughout...

IDK about being physically sick but there is no way I am ever going to have my nephew see this. Jim Henson and Frank Oz were pioneers when it came to the muppets, gorgs, doozers, fraggles, goblins, and so on. But I do know that it was believed that after the remake of "The Fly" in the 80's, people were throwing up in the theatre aisles.

As for what this film does to me. I simply respond with 'I was easily scared as a child and my dyslexia only made things more scary for me because I couldn't understand what I was watching or hearing.'

I saw this film yesterday and agree with the OP. There are a few movies that have this effect on me, and believe it or not it has little or nothing to do with the actual content of the film. Has a lot more to do with ambience, atmosphere, the feel or mood of the scene; the actual combination of images and sounds. And of course, your thoughts and feelings while viewing it.
A very "popular" movie that provokes this is the original Willy Wonkas Chocolate Factory; especially the oompaloompas (or however it's spelled). I also get sick with a LOT of japanese anime; they're really cool, but I can't tolerate much viewing. Sometimes, I get that sick feeling with sounds or music; such as Aphex Twin (don't get me wrong, I LOVE Richard D. James' music!) Another that comes to mind is Requiem for a Dream which I love, but a lot of people have a hard time watching it.
I've heard some people get sick with the teletubbies, and I can see where they're coming from. Fewer, but still some people are disturbed with Barney and his singing, (it has been used as some form of torture, not kidding!).
Another thing that comes to mind is the way people were scared (not actually physically sick, though) when movies like Jaws, The Exorcist and Alien where shown at theatres. The first two movies involve some psychological terror, but one thing that always stuck Alien in my mind was that I didn't have enough mental/visual information on what I just saw. My mind could not place the alien in any kind of shape or form, that in many ways is the beauty of the movie and it's also a really interesting way to screw with your mind. Because the mind fills in the spaces. Your mind actually pours in the fear.
So, getting back to the Dark Crystal, maybe the film is making your mind tell you thru your body that it's not liking it what it's seeing and/or hearing; for one reason or another, and that's why you feel physically sick. But you're not the only one!
