Favorite segment

What is your personal pick of the litter from this classic horror comic anthology?

For me it's a toss up between Stephen King's dimwit hillbilly contaminating himself & his shack with the extraterrestrial fungus from the fallen meteor;Leslie Nielsen in a rare non comedic role (and truly menacing)as a scorned millionaire burying his wife & her lover up their necks on his beach property.

It's hard to pick a favourite. Can I pick top three?

You see I snuck down the hallway when I was 9 or 10 and watched most of this show peeking through the doorway, unbeknownst to my mum (actually I think she knew but was kind enough to let me).

#1: See monsters!
#2: Monster under the stairs
#3: Cockroaches everywhere!

For years I had flashes of these things in my head without remembering where they were from. Glad I came across this gem once again.

Mine is Something To Tide You Over. Leslie Nielsen is CREEPY in this. I especially love when he says he could cover Harry all the way up and he shoves the sand all in his face for a moment then he starts pulling it away saying "No, no, no...I wouldn't do THAT." Oh man...! =/

"It's Minnie Pearl's murder weapon."

My favorite story of the film was Father's Day. It was the perfect blend of dark comedy and horror. Being the first story (unless you count the first half of the wraparound), it sets the mood for the rest of the film perfectly. I love it very much.

I've been waiting for you, Ben.

Fathers Day
Something to Tide you over
The Crate
and last and-- least The Lonesome Death of Jodie V

The Crate followed by the cockroach story and then Father's Day. The two you listed were my least favorite actually (though they aren't bad or anything).

The hillbilly-segment is not bad, but it is far too simple for me. My least favorite, but it's okay I guess.

My two favorites are Something To Tide You Over and They're Creeping Up On You... they're both SO GOOD I can't even choose! Anybody else have the same problem?!
Father's Day was so silly it was funny. The "father" in this story is a really noteworthy actor.

I actually consider Father’s Day to be the simplest, even if it does deliver my favorite moment of the movie (Nathan’s hand coming up from the ground).

In order from my favorite to least favorite

The Crate > Something to Tide You Over > The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verril > Father's Day > They're Creeping Up on You

I kept Creeping at the bottom mainly out of my fear of roaches and insects, despite me preferring it over Father's Day as a whole.

‘They're Creeping Up on You!’ It’s by far the… well… creepiest. What I find most disturbing about it, though, aren’t even the bugs themselves. It’s the diegetic sounds. The phone’s ring tone. The repairman’s voice. Even the jukebox.
