Does anyone just start feeling the chills when the demon walks through the house and makes that growling sound at the crucifix and then the table cloth flys up and covers it? That's really horrifying.
Yes, that scene was very creepy and for me showed how truly evil the demon was. Jesus stood for forgiveness, love, and the remission of sins so the covering of the crucifix showed the demons hated everything Jesus stood for. The family was so miserable and unhappy before they even moved into the house, so I think the evil forces caught onto that and fed off it.
I saw this again the other week, having not seen it for over 2 decades. Any scene with Sonny's possessed face gets to me. Really shouldn't have watched it again! Not as bad as when I was young but I still got flashes of Sonny's face when I went to sleep that night!
Its like a male version of The Exorcist face. That face haunts me, still hard to watch the movie alone. The Exorcist I mean but Sonnys face is scary as hell too.
i am a huge horror fan and that is the hands down the scariest moment in film ive ever seen. ive watched that movie in a lighted room full of people and i still get the chills
That was the only genuinely creepy scene. Granted I only saw this for the first time now as an adult so I wouldn't be as scared had I watched this as a child. The demonic make up wasn't very well done in my opinion, but that crucifix scene was pretty creepy.
