Coincidence with the 'Luther' character

From the weird coincidence department:

The Warriors, the 1979 now-cult classic about the gangs in New York directed by Walter Hill, has a character named Luther ... and that character was played by David Patrick Kelly.

48 Hrs., also has a character named Luther ... and he's played by the same actor, David Patrick Kelly. Walter Hill also directed this one.

That's not the coincidence, though. (Walter Hill and company certainly meant to use this as an inside joke, and there appears to be no link between the two Luthers -- although it's feasible.)

The coincidence is that right after I finished watching The Warriors earlier tonight, I decided to watch something else. So I browsed through Amazon Prime ... and decided to watch 48 Hrs..

Did I blow your mind? :)

That's a fun coincidence, and I didn't know his name was also Luther in the Warriors. Which movie did you like better?

...then whoa, differences...

Mind blowing? No. It is interesting if you did not know of the coincidences with the movies before hand. I myself responded to a Family Feud question about what host is as funny as Steve Harvey. I posted about Alex Trebek being in the list, but not Wayne Brady. Not even 30 seconds later, a commercial comes on for Colonial Peen with none other than Alex Trebek. lol

There are more links between The Warriors and 48hrs besides Luther. James Remar played Ganz in 48hrs and he was Ajax in the Warriors. Also, Sonny Landham plays the Indian Billy Baer in 48hrs was also a cop in the Warriors. He plays the cop in the subway station chase scene in the Warriors. Another one is the guy in the Warriors who played Rembrandt is also the parking lot attendant who takes Luther's ticket in 48hrs.

It's not really a coincidence. There's a character named Luther in every Walter Hill film.

I couldn't find one in Streets of Fire (1984).

I found another coincidence. The name Luthor was the last name of the villain in the original Superman movie

And the guy that pulled the gun on Luther in 48 hours, was the guy from The Warriors who got busted with Mercedes Rule as the undercover Cop in the park.

Sometimes I will choose a random song and start singing it then turn on the radio and that song is playing on the radio at that exact moment. Mind blowing?? Maybe, it's actually happened to me a few times.
