I have never liked 48 Hours

I love 80s movies (Beverly Hills Cop, To Live & Die in LA..)

I like Nolte (absolutely terrific in Tales Of New York) & early Eddie Murphy (Trading Places is my favorite comedy of all time), but to me this white cop / black hustler tandem doesn't work at all.

Dry humor, painfully boring, i just don't give a crap about the characters.
48 Hours has always had a trashy feel to me and this wont change!

The evil of the Thriller.

Agreed.

I remember watching it in the 90s, when it was on TV all the time. I saw the new 4k last night and it's not that fun of the movie. The racial "humor" aged poorly.

It's good up until the climax which kind of ruins everything that came before a little bit. The finale where they just go back to Ganz's ex's again hoping this time he'll show up and he does, and then Ganz's "I don't believe it, I got shot!", and then inexplicably proceeding to use his gun as a sword while charging towards Cates, just reeks of a director who just wanted to get the film quickly wrapped up.
