Lets be honest...Joel higgins was the funniest one on this

Franklyn seales had some funny moments. But rick shroder, erin gray and alfonso rebeiro weren't funny at all. In fact shroder even admitted in later years that comedy simply wasn't his thing and didn't entirely enjoy being on the show. He also credited Joel higgins as being the best comedy-wise.

The only that angered me about Silver spoons was how the producers were shamelessly trying to turn schroder into another 80's pin-up boy. It seemed brutally obvious on many episodes (like the one where he briefly becomes a singing sensation????....I mean seriously). Luckily schroder didn't buy into it and went onto a happier life than many of them did

I always had the crush on him!! Same age as him and loved watching the show because of him.

I had a crush on Higgins actually as a little girl. I know I was supposed to adore Ricky. But just did not click.

Higgins was easily the best thing about the show. I sometimes think that John Ritter would also have been excellent in that role if he were not already tied down with Three's Company at that point.

yeah I could see him in it.

Jason Bateman had more personality and ability to be humorous (as opposed to laugh out loud funny). A lot of Rick's lines were very vaudeville and corny.

I got tired of Rick being presented as some kind of triple threat talent throughout the show too. He made a film, did stand up, played in a band then sung in one I think these eps were almost back to back.

Rick also wasn't very likable always getting into some kind of trouble and even knocking a girlfriend up and then horn dogging some more.
