anybody else notice the difference?

Yes. I was glad when I saw that the second season was filmed instead of taped. What a difference!

Problem is, videotaped shows have that immediacy which makes them funnier, by default. This show needed videotape, as did Laverne & Shirley.

Yes, big difference.
Someone mentioned The Twilight Zone.
The videotape eps. look horrendous.

Even shows like Barney Miller.
The reruns today appear to be videotaped, which has a washed-out effect.
The colors are horrible.

Same with WKRP, which also appears to be videotaped.

Methinks producers used video to save money.
