Did you guys prefer Michael Gross with out without the beard? Personally, I prefer the beard.

Just find out it's on tv from S1, when he's clean cut without beard, he looks not much older than his son, and this guy actually reminds me of NBA star Klay Thompson, Only different hair, Klay wasn't born then.
shareI wonder if him not looking much older than Michael J. Fox played a role in him growing the beard. I don't recall seeing Michael Gross with a beard in many of his post Family Ties roles.
shareHe looked way older than Michael J. Fox even without his beard. MJF still looked like a teenager (despite being 21), and Gross could have easily passed for 40 (despite being 35).
MJF was the type of guy who could pass for a teenager when he was in his 30s (he was 29 in 1990 when Back to the Future III was released), while Gross was the type of guy who could pass for 40 when he was in his 20s, and stayed looking ~40 for the next ~30 years.
I like him with the beard, but I remember very well the shock of seeing him with the beard for the first time. I was pretty young and thought it was a different actor at first.
