Are the sequals worth a look?

I liked this film, but apperently the next sequals are rubbish?

What I have seen of them has been horrible beyond description, comparable to a SciFi "original production."

Windmills do not work that way!

If you want a good sequel look for the Howling II by Gary Brandner and if you haven't read the first one read it too. Both are very good.

the only one worth watchin other than part 1 is part 2. the others are crap.

we all go a little mad sometimes....

reply

I didn't even like part two, but to each his (or her) own.

reply

Part 2 was freakin crap.

reply

Part 2 is funny and bizarre, you need a sense of humour though, it's a great slice of 80's cheese. Part 6 is the next best sequel, also thought 4 and 5 were watchable.

reply

Part 2 is the only one that follows the events of the original I think. It also may be the only film in history to show a werewolf three-way. I defeintly recommend it!

I kind of like 5 and 6. 5, if I remember correctly is set up like a who-dun-it. X amount of people trapped in a large mansion/castle. One by one they start dying. Who's the werewolf.

6 is about werewolves vs vampires. Here, the werewolf is the protagonist.

I'm not suggesting these are great films, just the best of the rest.

Howling II is a bad movie classic. I recommend you run out and see it immediately.

Olivia: "What, did you run out of eye makeup?"

The Howling should've have never been a franchise to begin with! They should've just stayed with just the first movie and left well enough alone, but they didn't! The first movie was good, the rest can go straight to hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Howling 3 is good because it satires the werewolf thing .

I watched the Howling 2 last night and it had to be one of the worst movies I've ever seen... I'm eagerly awaiting getting my hands on the other sequels.

Howling 7 makes all the other sequals look like Citizen Kane.

Watched the Howling III and IV, and will be watching the others soon enough.

The Howling III was awful, not quite as bad as the 2nd, but far less entertainingly bad. The Howling IV was actually fairly competent until the last 20 minutes, at which point it went waaaaaay off the rails. I hear the Howling V is the best of the sequels, so we'll see whether this train wreck continues.

Aaaand now I've seen them all. Howling V was not a great movie, but as far as these films go it was miles ahead of any of the preceding sequels. Howling VI was step back from V in terms of quality and entertainment, around the same level as Howling IV. The Howling VII was an abomination to the art of film making. Finally, Howling Reborn was pretty bad as well, but still better than most of the sequels. I'd rank the series:
1. Howling
2. Howling V
3. Howling Reborn
4. Howling IV
5. Howling VI
6. Howling III
7. Howling II (It's awful, but entertaining throughout. In terms of enjoyment, this would be my #4 instead.)
8. Howling VII

I commend you sir.

That was a truly Herculean effort.

Howling 2 is very entertaining . Chris Lee is in it. And there is so much scene chewing by Sybill Channing in it .

It's true of any franchise, it's true of the Jaws movies and practically every film thats had a lot of sequels.

I've heard awful things about all of the sequels as well, but that won't stop me. But I can't judge movies based on other people's opinions because my taste is so unique. Movies most people hate sometimes end up being my absolute favorites. And on the other hand, movies most people love I find to be underwhelming. But sometimes I do agree with the majority. My taste in films is unpredictable so I can't always judge movies based on their reviews. Therefore, if I want to watch a certain movie I will watch it no matter what other people say and because of that I can't wait to see the sequels.
