Regarding the Novel, It’s Interesting to Note…..

When this movie came out I was in a super market at the checkout line where the novel was on display. Naturally I picked it up & skipped all the way to the back of the book & took a look at how it ended. What shocked me was at the end just after Damien got stabbed & Jesus appears to him, he said something along the lines of “Nazarene, accept me into thy paradise”

Which of course shocked me that he’d wind up doing that but I guess it makes sense. That he’d be of the opinion “F*&k it! I ain’t going to hell”. Actually I think this is much better than what he said in the movie “Nazarene, you have won…..nothing.” The movie would’ve had a more dramatic impact if they filmed it as it was written in the book. Wonder why they changed it but again seeing how the novel really ended surprised me. Never thought of posting a topic on this till now but I wonder how many of you were aware that it ended this way….in the book I mean.

No, Damien says "it's over father, receive me back into thy paradise." He was talking to Satan for his return to hell.
