The aspect that seems most relevant to me re-watching the series is the idea of a huge corporation controlling the world's food supply (Monsanto?) and even trying to genetically engineer 'better' food to feed the poor starving masses; you know, for our own good. Saintly corporate benevolence. That's all dead-on but it would've been even better to explore how they cause the problems in the first place through criminal mismanagement. Causing chaos than offering band-aid solutions to keep bu$iness booming.
That's the problem, removing context and compartmentalizing; starting from the presumption that the present order is incompetent but still benevolent and that its only eeeevil outside influences at work here. Never that the whole thing's bogus, that somebody as ruthless as Damien isn't an anomaly but the rule. Am I to believe there's much difference between a psycho philanthropist CEO like Thorne and the President of the United States? Both kill babies, in the bible God orders kiddy slaughter too -/+ = 0
