Higher rating than Basic Instinct

Both films are amazing.

Basic Instinct is more showy...a bigger budget production with more modern cinematography and film editing, some good action sequences (great car chase scene) along with being more violent, humorous and sleazy.

Body Heat has stronger acting performances, takes itself more seriously, has a better screenplay and is quite a contained grounded film all things considered.

I can easily see why some would consider Basic Instinct to be much better whilst I totally understand people prefering the more straight laced Body Heat. There are parties whom consider Basic Instinct to be a trashy affair, it's definitely more hit-and-miss than the quite universally well regarded Body Heat.

I like BI but BH runs rings around it at every level.

Well done as it is, BI is a cartoon movie.
BH works very hard to be realistic.

maybe because kathleen turner is hotter than sharron stone.

Not in the least better.
