I'm surprised

I really enjoyed this. It has some hokey moments which are a product of its time, but I love how you sympathize with Harry but fear how warped he is. He's dangerous and he has good intentions. That leads to some decent tension.

I think it’s great. I saw it for the first time last year and I gave it a second watch recently and I enjoyed it even more this time.

Trivia
John Waters recommends this as his favorite Thanksgiving/Christmas themed film.

I NEED TO SEE THIS ONE...I REMEMBER A VHS I NEVER RENTED...JUST ADDED IT TO MY WATCHLIST.

Slow burn character study here with a nice ending. I like it, but it’s really a slow mover.

I FIGURED THAT OUT...WHICH IS NOT SUPER EXCITING FOR ME...BUT I HAVE VIVID MEMORIES OF THE VHS THAT I SAW A MILLION TIMES BUT NEVER RENTED...THOSE UNRENTED TAPES HAUNT ME.

I know just what you mean. There were so many movies I held and read the back cover of over and over but never rented. They built a reputation in my mind and often I did not get to watch them until years later. Those type of experiences, I’m betting just like you, keep me in love with physical media to this day.

I prefer Silent Night Deadly Night, but this is just behind for me.

That’s one I haven’t seen yet.

In the running for the silver medal regarding Christmas themed horror movies. (Black Christmas takes the gold by an absolute country mile, not up for debate!)

This is an underrated Christmas horror film.

This film is hilarious. If someone doesn't know why a tune needs to be played they need to get their head examined.
