Disney's Darkest Film?
I am not sure but what would you say are Disney's top 5 darkest films?
share1. The Watcher In The Woods
2. The Black Hole
3. Something Wicked This Way Comes
4. Dragonslayer
5. Sleeping Beauty
It's the first four that are most interesting. Live action, they came out during the period - 1979 to 1983 - Disney was experimenting with more mature films to find an audience again. I finally watched 'Watcher' tonight for the first time, though I've known of it since I was a boy in the early 1980's. This was the closest thing to a horror film they've ever done, and it's quite effective!
The Black Cauldron is pretty "dark."
shareI remember being "bothered" by these five as a child.
The Watcher in the Woods (creepy coffins, creepy cult weirdo stuff, things that go bump in the night)
Something Wicked This Way Comes :::Croak::: (Sorry, can't help but think of the song from Harry Potter and those cool toads!)
Bambi (The stern father and the music was depressing)
Pinocchio (The donkey, the whale, need I say more?)
Old Yeller (He kills his own dog, he shoots the mofo's face right off. While we do not actually see it, the imagination makes the image very clear)
I can name the top three which would include Watcher In The Woods, Something Wicked This Way Comes, and Dragonslayer.
