shareTerror Train was definitely one of the
more effective films that was released
at the height of the 80's horror/slasher
craze. Jamie Lee was terrific (it sucks
she's not into horror films anymore, she
was amazing in all of them) and the rest
of the cast was pretty cool. It had a
unique touch of mystery to it, the fact
that the killer was switching costumes was
scary and the fact that the setting
is on a train make it very claustrophobic
and unnerving. I saw this for the first time
when I was just a kid (back in the early/mid
1980's) and it scared the piss out of me.
Later when I watched it as a 16 year old,
it still creeps me out a little. Gripping
and suspenseful good time, I strongly suggest
it but I warn you it's a hard one to track down.
Easy to track through NetFlix. I know - I sound like a sales rep for them. But I'm just a film fanatic and I got sick of "tracking down" movies by phoning or driving to video stores to find movies that any movie fan would know about. Then I'd receive a look of confusion by some slackjawed teen at the video store who seemed annoyed that you wanted anything other than a movie that's been released in the last few years. Movies like "Terror Train", "Wicker Man", "Irreversible", "Keep the River on Your Right", "I'm not Scared", "Re-Animator","The Station Agent", "Elephant", "Swimming Pool" - NetFlix has'em.
