Do you think that when Superman kisses Louis so she forgets
he slips her the tongue?
shareNo
shareYou and I both know he's under thr influence of witchcraft.
shareAs stupid as that is I'll take that over Superman spinning time backward. I'm glad Richard Donnor didn't get his way. As dumb as it is spinning time back cause Lois died is way better than spinning back time cause you can't stand you chose Lois over the world and thereby caused the damage Zod, Ursa, and Nom inflicted. Just to state a fact Richard Donnor wanted Superman 1 to end with Superman stopping both missiles and then hurling them into outer space freeing Zod, Ursa, and Nom from the Phantom Zone. But executives forced him to change his preferred ending. But he did always want to end Superman 2 with Superman spinning time backwards. So, yeah. His preferences aren't mine.
shareThe Salkinds (The producers of both the first and second film), were overbearing a$$holes who gave Richard Donner such a hard time during production, that he had to rush Superman 1 into production. He was directing BOTH movies at the same time to help keep costs down, and the Salkinds told him to release Superman 1 into the theaters before he had finished all the scenes for BOTH movies.
Had Donner had been able to finish both movies, I believe we would have received TWO great films.
But, sadly, the Salkinds fired him soon after the first was released and then got Richard Lester to finish Superman 2.
I understand that but I do not like some of Donnor's scenes in Superman II. Like Lois shooting Clark.
Also be fair I prefer the Spinning time back premise in the first one to the 2nd one as he wanted to make it so most of Superman II didn't happen.
I agree that the world spinning backward belongs in the theatrically released version of the film, but I still wonder what the two movies would have looked like if Donner had gotten his way, and not the sketchy "Superman 2 - The Donner Cut".
