Where do Zod and the other two go at the end? (Spoiler)
When they fall down the hole? Do they die? That doesn't seem like something supes would allow to happen, at least not so flippantly.
...then whoa, differences...

Lester die and Donner back to the Phantom Zone.
I'll let you know when I come-up with a new signature, .
In one version of the script, and 1984 ABC TV version, all 3 Krypton (depowered) villains and Luthor are all arrested by North Pole police authorities....this scene is deleted from theater/VHS/DVD version

It always felt like a letdown with how the three villains end up. Besides Sup squishing Zod's hand, and Lois punching Ursa... there's no big payoff. They could have had more fun with it.
shareI think the ending of Zod is a huge payoff. I've heard that in some theaters, people were standing up and cheering. I think it's safe to say that all of the villains fell to their death.

I always guessed that if Superman re-rigged the machine, he also made some sort of adjustment in the Fortress that allowed Zod and his minions to return to the Phantom Zone.
When there's no more room in Hollywood, remakes shall walk the Earth.share
Yes. If you look closely, you can see he logs into the relevant folder on his Ice-OS - he clearly goes into environment/corpses/minions/delete/phantomzone and executes some file.
shareLois murdered Ursa.
shareI'm pretty sure he didn't kill them. He probably sent them back to the zone.
shareI've seen people constantly insist that happened but there's nothing in the movie that says Superman has access to a Phantom Zone Projector. Besides it's debatible they could survive that after being turned into human beings. Then again if he has a Phantom Zone Projector hidden from Zod's, Ursa's, and Nom's sight why even turn them into human beings?
shareThe extended version has them being arrested:

Zod could have sued Superman for breaking his hand, and Ursa could have had Lois charged with assault
shareI'm sure Luthor can recommend a good attorney.
shareFrom a legal Standpoint though, they aren't American Citizens or even Citizens of Earth so everyone in authority would probably argue that it should be Superman who also isn't from Earth and is from the same planet to decide what to do with them. After all they did to people on Earth and the people they injured and killed, I doubt any judge would fault Superman for turning them into human beings and killing them. I understand not liking that Superman killed them. But it's a pretty just punishment in my opinion. Plus they may have rather died than to spend the rest of their lives in a prison among human beings they despise.
shareLooks like the Kryptonian villains are being played by stand-ins here since it's shot from so far away.
