Why is there an alien in the movie poster?

There’s literally nothing in this movie that comes close to looking like a potential alien or alien activity. Would have been a cool theme to explore though!

Your question is nonsense.

reply

it makes perfect sense i had the same question

THIS QUESTION COMES UP EVERY SO OFTEN AND IT IS STUPIDER EVERY TIME I SEE IT...THE FACE ON THE POSTER IS DANNY...PERIOD...THE REASON IT LOOKS SO ODD IS IT IS DRAWN WITH DOTS...GROW UP,WEIRDOS.

reply

That looks literally NOTHING like Danny. I know Kubrick likes to make jabs at the moon landing so it would make sense that it’s either a moon man or alien. Look it up if you don’t believe me.

reply

It’s Danny.

reply

You need to get your eyes checked.

reply

SO DOES THE GUY WHO CREATED IT THEN.

reply

As usual you give a rude answer.
You are a disgusting.

reply

FIRST OFF...THAT POST IS FROM TWO YEARS AGO...SECOND...WHY ARE YOU BEING SO DICKISH ALL OF A SUDDEN?....I THOUGHT WE WERE COOL,BUDDY.

reply

This was on the cover of The Shining I got from the library back in the day the first time I read it. Back then, I didn't know it was a movie tie in poster cover. So I had always been under the impression that it was a representation of just the evil spirits of the hotel itself. But then again since it is a movie poster it probably is just a representation of a very frightened Danny.

reply

I always thought it was actually like a doll (yes like the Chucky doll), which also makes no sense, but that's what it used to look to me when I was a child... then when I bought the DVD, I forgot about that poster and got used to Jack's crazy grin.

reply

It's obviously Tony (The little boy that lives in Danny's Mouth)

reply

It’s definitely not Tony. It looks nothing human.

reply

Dude, you're wrong. It IS Tony! Read the book!
In the book, King describes Tony as having a "distorted appearance" to Danny.
Also, on the poster, the face appears in the letter "T". Yep, that's right! "T" for Tony!
Case closed!

reply

I agree. It’s not the best movie poster but it as a great movie

Apparently Stephen King hated it but he had a downpour of substance abuse at the time so fuck him.

reply

I always thought it looked weird. I have the soundtrack and it has the same cover art and I hate looking at it.

reply

It’s a very ugly design

reply

It's called diversity. Duh.
