I really didn't care for this film.

I bought this dvd after leaning that Dennis Hopper jumped in to direct after the original director caved-in. I also heard that it was a great movie. Didn't like it and I see why I was able to buy it used at Amazon.com for 1 cent plus shipping

Ah man! This movie was great! Linda Manz & Hopper were both EXCELLENT in this movie. And the long tracking shot in the diner towards the beginning is also something to behold! It's like 6 minutes with no cuts! Maybe you got weak guts!?!

Dennis Hopper's acting was great in this film, as it is in every film he appears in, but the script was awful, and the other actors were awful.

It's just a silly exploitation film, that was lucky enough to get Hopper to be in it.

reply

Linda Manz was great too!

I loved it and watched it multiple times. I suppose it just depends on the person...

I really enjoyed this movie.

I love it when film snobs get angry.

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

thanks for the totally uninformative post as to why you didn't like it, it was super enlightening. do you like seeing your words all glowy and pretty on a screen?

Haha, nice retort.

The 1-cent price tag is only indicative of the picture quality of the public domain DVD releases of the film, the out of print Anchor Bay release with pristine quality and commentary by Hopper sells for at least nearly $20 of used copies, so bringing up what you paid for it counts for nothing as a case against the movie.

This is some people's favourite ever film. Did you not feel a connection with it and so you had to seek acceptance online from people who didn't like it even though you know you'll come across fans of the film and what it represents and just try and ignore them when you make reprehensible remarks? Your brain might be as intangible as plastic, but the world isn't that *beep* yet. I'm enjoying anything that smashes irresponsible civilisation with raw emotion. Feeling that is right, holding it back is wrong. Civilisation's not a religion, when faced with punk rock, it feels threatened because people treat civilisation like a religion, when it's just not. If the values in this film didn't sit right with you, I'm afraid you're going to have to blame the bigger picture, not the film. It's pathetic really. You don't need the internet's approval to decide if something's *beep* just decide it is and don't give a *beep* about us, or anyone. Let us decide for ourselves as well. Wanker. We won't bother you if you won't bother us.

I liked it, but if someone didn't, it doesn't mean they didn't "get it".... Just like it's not hip to like a strange movie.

But I would argue that the cost has NOTHING to do with the movie.. For me, it's something different.. If that movie was made in the 70s, I guarantee it would have got more attention. The 80s was the worst decade for movies and music, the biggest dip, considering the 70s were great, but also past decades (for film, anyway).
