How Come Yoda Was So Off Re Luke's "Can Do" Positive Attitude?

So Yoda says he's been watching over Luke the whole time and says "Always with you, it cannot be done".

Yet, maybe an hour tops screen time earlier, at the end of the first film pretty much EVERYONE is saying it's going to be impossible to hit the Death Star exhaust port. Everyone that is, EXCEPT for the ultra optimistic Luke Skywalker who's telling anyone who'll listen that he could bullseye womp rats which weren't much bigger. So what gives?

I'm not 100% sure if this can be considered a plot hole as such but it certainly raises questions re Yoda's mental state.

I can't remember but it always makes me laugh when people buy the bs that George Lucas had a well thought out plan for the Star Wars universe but he just didn't have the budget at the time for his vision so he filmed the fourth part first etc.

I'm not saying it's not true. But there's too many contradictions even in the original trilogy (forget the prequels where there's countless ones) to think it was well thought out.

I still haven't heard a logical explanation as to why Leia tells Luke in ROTJ that she always knew he was her brother but she was kissing him on the lips in ESB😂
