How many people watched this because of Karl Pilkington?

When he said it was his favorite movie, I knew I had to watch it.

If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have known about it. After hearing him talk about it so often, I decided to check it out.

I am a Pilkington fan...but a bigger David Lynch fan...my inclination was around 70% due to Lynch and 30% because of Pilkington...nonetheless Pilkington was a reason...!!

You can't handle the truth...!!!

I'm guessing a lot who did are fairly young if they haven't heard of it, and probably recently when all the podcasts and things made him famous on TV. I love Pilkers and have for sometime, but the movie has been very famous for decades now.

I've been aware of this movie as long as I can remember, knew it was supposed to be good, always thought I'd get around to watching it at some stage, but yes, it was Karl Pilkington that made me seek it out.

Ricky Steve and Karl should make a Rifftrax commentary for The Elephant Man. I'd buy it.

Kes.

I often wonder if it's an age or cultural divide seeing as both this film and Kes are 2 films we watched at school for study purposes.
They are massively famous and I find it hard to believe that only through Karl Pilkington (whom I think is great) are these films now becoming "known".

As I said, I (and many others) grew up with these films. I think it great they are being rediscovered. But to me it's like someone not knowing of Citizen Kane, Psycho or King Kong.

And so, God came forth and proclaimed widescreen is the best.

Lynch owes Pilkington for the marketing deal they had...
