My GOD, this movie is full of it, adult, child AND infant nudity! This would never pass these days, and it must've been controversial back then!
How can a filmmaker focus on so much of the stuff, exposed sexual organs and everything, and not get a severe slap on the wrist!? What rating did this movie get in the States anyway? A heavy R?
It was rated R. However, in the 80's, we were not so obsessed with that sort of thing. Nudity wasn't everywhere, but we didn't worry about it; and yes, child nudity did exist. If there is no sexual element it wasn't a problem. Parents usually had a photo of new infants naked on a blanket. Small children were not seen as somehow inherently sexual like some seem to think today. (And yes, I am completely aware there were pedophiles then as now. But we didn't think they were around every corner or that the slightest interest or depiction of a child without clothes indicated pedophilia.)
