You can't start your period in water
I was really confused by this as a teen - knowing you cannot start your period in the water! You'd think the director would have known that! DUH!

shareWhat the hell? If this were true people wouldn't need to bother with tampons when they go swimming. The water isn't going to stop you from getting your period. Jesus.
shareSo this movie is now on TV and that made me want to check out what imdb had on it.
I've been laughing my ass off for the past five minutes. Not to be nasty on the OP, but I just love when people try to point someone else's ignorance based on ludicrous misconceptions they could have dismantled with a simple google search...
Seriously, I've laughed almost as much with this topic than with the whole American Pie movie.
Well, you must consider that some kids are raised by religious parents who don't teach them anything about sexuality, except "just say no". These kids end up perpetuating such nonsense, but it's not really their fault they were not raised by responsible parents :(
It's why it's so important to have sex ed early in school, BEFORE the age of menstruation, so youth know what they're getting into, in case their parents are too dumb.
***So I've seen 4 movies/wk in theatre for a 1/4 century, call me crazy?**
well i got my period in a wave pool once. it was not a fun day. so yeah... your science is wrong :\
shareThis is actually true, but not. You can't just start bleeding but if you push out you can push blood out. I have done this accidentally in the tub. So it is possible if she was squatting and pushing that blood would come out.
shareAbsolutely amazing! Are you fluent in any other language apart from Utterbollocks?
shareHahaha. I'm a woman and I can assure you that I've bled dozens of times while taking baths on my period.

How can people still believe this crap? I had an ex who believes that a woman's period stops as soon as her feet touches the water. Yeah dude, I save a whole lot on tampons by just soaking my feet in a bucket for a few days. It cramps my style a bit but hey, no tampons!
This "water stops your period" wives tale along with the "cats steal your breath" one just won't die.
Water does not stop your body from having a period!
Clark's destiny = Superman, LL & LL.
You most certainly can start your period in the water. If you couldn't, women could go swimming during their cycle with no tampon/pad. And that sure isn't so.
"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."
This is one of those things that effects women differently. For some women, water doesn't stop a period but for some it does. Speaking from personal experience, water stops mine, but I know that it doesn't for my friend. For some women it creates a barrier I think, but too be honest, I'm not really sure of the science behind it.
