Was this a made-for-television movie?
Because it is so bad and so poorly made that I think that it must be. I mean really.

shareJust watched it. It's a great movie. Don't know what you're talking about.
shareOf course it was... made for TV Films are always shot in 2.35:1 Widescreen. It is truly shocking to me how clueless most of the posters on IMDB are.
shareI know what you mean, it looks pretty feeble in retrospect, not much of a story.
shareSaw this in the theater in the summer of '79 and I was 18. It was a good crowd at the Alex Theater in Glendale, CA, and the audience ate it up.
Some movies have big budgets, some do not. But, I'm glad this sweet little gem of a movie was made and I wouldn't change a minute of it.
I totally agree. I saw it in the fall of 1979 when I was 17 and loved it. It completely scared me and my date because we did not often go to "thriller" movies. Also, the dates in the movie came after the date we saw it, so there was that fun "what if" feature as well. The humor mixed in with the thrills mixed in with a little social commentary was great. I was glad to see David Warner in so many films after that. He's terrific.
