Other Time Travel Movies
I see people talking about Back to the Future as another time travel film. What other time travel films have you seen and liked. One of my favs is Time Rider.

shareTime Bandits was good but at the same time had negative sentimental value. When I got home I got news that my grandmother died. So...she died while I was watching the movie.
shareTime travel is one of my favorite sub-genre's of Sci-Fi. It has been very well represented throughout the years. My personal top ten list of time travel films is as follows:
1. "Back to the Future" (the quintessential time travel film)
2. "Terminator 2: Judgement Day"
3. "The Time Machine" (1960)
4. "Terminator"
5. "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home"
6. "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure"
7. "Time After TIme"
8. "Timecop"
9. "Disaster In Time" (extremely underrated made for cable movie w/ Jeff Daniels)
10. "Back to the Future III"
Other movies with a time travel theme are: "Star Trek First Contact", "Star Trek Generations", "The Time Travelers Wife", "The Philadelphia Experiment", "Kate and Leopold", "The Final Countdown", "Back to the Future II", "12 Monkeys", "Somewhere In Time", "Peggy Sue Got Married", "Hot Tub Time Machine", "Bill and Teds Bogus Journey" (I Think), "Planet of the Apes" (remake), "Star Trek" (Abrams film), "Escape From the Planet of the Apes", "The Lake House", "Looper", "Time Bandits", "The Blue Yonder" (an 80's Disney movie I remember being very good w/ Peter Coyote and Art Carney), "Army of Darkness", "Deja Vu", "Timeline", "Flight of the Navigator", "Source Code", and "Millenium".
Although "Frequency" has been mentioned, that is more of a "time bridge" film, as opposed to an actual time travel film since no one is actually temporally displaced in the film.
Also, someone mentioned "Stargate", which is in no way, shape, or form a "time travel" film. It is a movie where near-instantaneous travel through space is achieved via a wormhole, but there is no actual temporal displacement of characters at any moment in the film.
Hope this helps!

Of course, some of these might not be up to some people's standards. I simply love time travel!
Split Infinity (1992)
Cyborg 2087 (1966)
Fetching Cody (2005)
Enter Nowhere (2011)
Time Travelers (1976)
The Time Travelers (1964)
A Sound of Thunder (2005)
Safety Not Guaranteed (2012)
Waxwork II: Lost in Time (1992)
Biggles: Adventures in Time (1986)
Journey to the Center of Time (1967)
A Journey to the Beginning of Time (1955)
Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time (1991)
"A Sound of Thunder" also became an episode on "The Ray Bradbury Theater"~quite a different telling of his short story.
I don't recall if the series "Time Trax" was mentioned. I'm not sure I recall seeing "The Time Tunnel" though I'd be surprised if it wasn't noted. When watching "Quantum Leap", it struck me that "Voyagers!" did this correct-history-then-move on storyline several years earlier.
Also, there was the very silly "It's About Time".

Did anyone mention 'Timeline' from the Michael Crichton book.
shareThanks to all for mentioning their favs, etc.
Got a bunch of 'em lined up from YouTube and the local library.
If you like historical fiction, with some romance, have you tried the Starz series Outlander? It doesn't involve a machine... more an explanation of 'Once upon a time, about 200 years ago'.
Agree, Time Rider was great. Very hard movie to find though. I think I saw it on HULU.
shareNo-one has mentioned La Jetee, my favourite time-travel film, a huge influence on Twelve Monkeys and even credited at the start. Predestination from last year is very good too, well-worth watching.
shareI loved Time after time except the ending. I prefer Time machine.
About time travelling there are 2 movies, comedies, the original Les Visiteurs and the American remake The visistors. They are both hilariously funny, and I prefer the French one.
La Jetee is really just a slide show masquerading as a movie. Seriously. It is just slides and a guy talking.
shareHere is a list of newer time travel movies. I haven't seen any of them but they are on my watch-list:
1. The Elegant Clockwork of the Universe (2013)
2. Timespace (2014)
3. Counter Clockwise (2016)
4. A Wrinkle in Time (2017)
