Did anyone see this in the theater?
shareSaw it at the Scala in Withington Manchester when i was a eleven, remember feeling kind of funny when Stella paraded around in that outfit (u know the one). Happy days.
shareYeah, I saw it back in 1979, I was about eleven years old and was pretty impressed by the fact that the hero was a heroine. I just found out that the movie is released on DVD and will order it immediately. And thanks to the comments, I'm prepared for everything. I hope so.
shareYes. Unfortunately, so did I. It was horrible. One of the worst movies I've ever seen.
shareI saw this movie in the theater in Brussels. Part of the Sci-Fi boom of the late 1970's I never forgot this movie. But the only thing I remembered was the fortress in the form of a hand that could close into a fist when attacked. I didn't even remember that this was the bad guys fortress.
A couple of years ago I bought the DVD. I watched it and found it to be one of the worst movies I ever saw. And I just loooooove bad movies. Laughing at the makers of such movies brings me more joy that watching a good comedy.
When we first get to see the bad guy in this movie, I laughed out loud. His costume, his hairstyle and the way you can almost feel the actor thinking "Why did I sign up for this movie" were jkust too much to take.
Another bad movie is Galaxina. Galaxina was intended as a comedy but it's jokes just don't work. Star Crash was intended as a serious sci-fi movie. That's why it's hylarious!
Saw it in a cinema here in New Zealand at the age of about 8. At the time it didn't really strike me as a direct rip-off of Star Wars apart from the light-saber duel. Looking at it again (yes, it's bad but amusing) it still seems closer in spirit to cheesy sci-fi flicks of the 50s and 60s rather than Star Wars.
shareI saw Starcrash in New Hartford, N.Y. at a Drive-Inn, I was 11 years old. It was the second part of a double feature. I can't remember what the first film was. It may have been Star Wars.
shareMy brother and I did when it came out and it was so bad that we nicknamed it 'Startrash'. I think we were only ones in the theater and it lasted 3 days before it was gone.
shareI am totally embarrassed to say I did, with my then girlfriend, but we were barely out of high school. Ugh ... this is the kind of movie today I would not even watch for free ... or even if they paid me! ;-)
