Riff is way hotter than Kate, more appealing, sexier oh yes.
But Kate is really less annoying.

OMG I had this conversation many years ago with a brother of Joey's who is alive and was never in the band and he holds tributes for Joey for fans to see and I mention I loved Riff (I guess I was really young and said Riff was my rebel) and he mentioned that Kate was the woman. But they were both great looking women for the flick.

This is a tough one for me! PJ Soles' body then is pretty close to my idea of "perfection". But Kate-the-character is much like my wife, and would be so much more fun after that first night.

Do you think Kate would still have me after I have a one-night-stand with Riff?

That is a hard decision to come up with because like you said Riff is very perky and Kate is the quiet shy bookworm type. She was cute in her own way.

I am not-repeat NOT-a lesbian but for the sake of this question I think I would rather be friends with Kate than Riff.

I would wager that all of us knew a Kate and-or a Riff in high school.

I noticed that they took her glasses off, smeared make up on her like a whore, curled her hair, and made her seem more and more stupid. I guess that's more or less the same thing you said.

Kate, I guess. I'm not really enthused about either one (I'd take Cheryl the brunette w/ bangs over them any day) but PJ Soles is... I dunno... funky looking somehow. Whereas it seems like they had to go out of their way to make Dey Young to look "not hot" until the end of the movie.
