Is anyone else puzzled by Tripper's strong physical attraction to Roxanne in this movie? Is that really the actress to cast for that part when the script calls for Tripper to feel that way about her? She looks like a boy next to the other girls.

I didn't care for her too much back in the day, but she looks pretty stunning in the special features on the DVD. Some people just get better looking with age.
I think Tripper fought for her simply because she was the one girl who would give him a good fight. Can the shrew be tamed?!

Some people are pretty harsh on Roxanne's looks. I thought she looked pretty good, and lets face it, when you're spending 2 months with a bunch of kids, Roxanne looks really good. I know she's not a babe, but who cares. Tripper and Roxanne were probably both in their late 20's early 30's, it felt right to be together.

I've always figured that Roxanne was different than the usual girls Tripper dated/slept with. I can't imagine it being long-term. She's either coming out of the closet or he finds someone like her but attractive and moves on with her.
