This was about the time when the American people began to

think movies were so realistic and compelling that they represented reality. Since then tens and hundreds of millions of people watch Tv and movies to set up their ideas about how the world works. This pretty much ruins the idea and possibility of democracy when Americans each think the movies they saw and like represent a reality they must argue to the death for, and if hey can find some nutty show on FOX News to back them up - so much the better.

What the hell are you babbling about?

reply

I'd try to explain it to you further, but I don't think you're smart enough to put two and two together.

reply

Sounds like you can’t even explain it to yourself which speaks volumes about your own intelligence.

reply

Guess by your own words I am too smart and complex for you to figure out, but instead of asking questions or for clarification you get nasty ... so, it's really you that is exposing your real lack of intelligence. You're just a fake agent of Right wing nuts, and we all know you, plural, revel in their ignorance.

reply

The fact that you had trouble even comprehending a 1 sentence response I gave you further proves my point. You are a pathetic, crybaby libtard and someone seriously needs to give you a re-education, your cult has deluded whatever common sense you ever once had.

reply

The fact that you posted this before I ever got off the page shows that your life is an empty as your mind, and all you can do is name-call. Get lost.

reply

And now you’re just pathetically trying to deflect away from your own inability to clarify your own premise. You are the literal definition of pathetic.

reply

Give up. It no use discussing with that mongoloid. He gets all his "facts" from cnn.

reply

CNN, where all the smartest mongoloids get their opinions .

reply

I disagree.

reply

WTF are you talking about?

reply

Well, I will concede American's are DRASTICALLY more dumbed down then ever before. But I think everything really started to go downhill around 1993.

1970's - Slight decline
1980's - Slight decline
1990-1992 - Slight decline
1993 to present - an unprecedented STEEP STEEP decline. Junk food and media very high up there as primary cause. Obesity rate in 1992 was around 10%, now upwards to 40%-50% or even higher. IQ's have plummeted AT LEAST 10 points. A complete and utter catastrophe that will the U.S. will NEVER recover from.

I was at the knee of the curve ... right about the time of the Powell Memorandum where the elite plutocrats realized they had to fear an educated populace. That is when the disinvestment in citizens ball got rolling, and that is right before China realized the opposite. Now our country has painted itself into a corner just as everyone is brainwashed that those right-wing Libertarian MF'ers are trying to overthrow our system to regress back to slavery.

There have always been dimwits who believe movies reflect reality. It's was nothing new in 1979. As far as Fox News is concerned, it's about the only place that doesn't just repeat the woke/Democrat narrative. Fox isn't unbiased, but they talk about what's really going on with more truth than CNN, MSNBC, NPR, the "Times" of N.Y. or L.A., or any of the other Dem-captured mainstream news media. The real reason you don't like Fox is because they don't agree with the nutty leftist nonsense you've been fed.

Otherwise known as reporting the news without massive lies.

What on Earth are you babbling about?

This thread makes no sense.

reply

Your existence makes no sense. GFY

reply

What does my existence have to do with anything?

Anyone with any sense would look at your thread and say "What on Earth is he babbling about?"

reply

Who thought that?

Well actually, a lot of people thought "JFK" represented reality.

In fact, it isn't even close.

However, one has never seen anybody "argue to the death" over it.

ANyway, one would think, or even hope, at the very least, the majority of Americans know, when they are watching a movie, it is just that, a movie. It isn't historical fact.

reply

I think it happened later. Around the Ra Ra Ragen 80s , around the boom, the wealth explosion, when people started to own their own VHS. From 84 and onwards. It ended in 2006 imho.
