Could you live in a house where people were murdered?

I'm just curious how many people could move into that house after the murders. Scam or truth aside on the Lutz's story. Could you move into the house after the Defaoe family was killed. Personally, I don't think I could. It would be on my mind every time I'd be at home alone at night. I do live in an apartment building where someone was shot two floors below me a few months ago. And I honestly don't think about it much. But this is different. This was a whole family, children and parents killed in their sleep. It's just too dark for me. Thoughts from others?

It all depends, really. I've been in several houses with a history and usually things are just fine. But none of them were so horrible as the crime committed in the Amityville house. I'm fine with the idea of it, in theory, but I'd need to walk around every bit of it to see how I feel. I probably makes a difference with how recent the crime was, as well.

What does matter is how well known the crime is. With the infamy of the DeFeo murders and the Lutz's claims, people still try to get a good look at that house. Knowing how often I'm home alone while my husband goes out of town, I wouldn't want to be in a house that's become a local legend for curious teenagers and murder enthusiasts to sniff around.

Yes but I would be scared.

I briefly lived in a house where the former owner died from a stroke. Every morning his ghost would walk from one end of my bedroom, open the closet door, then you could hear it walk towards the bathroom. I put up with it for three years before finally having enough.

I've seen and felt stuff like that all my life. I don't call them ghosts though. They are just spirits visiting. They are not trapped in any form. They do not say BOO to scare you they are just there.

It is the demons that bring fear, anger, hate and confusion.

We have had two or three spirits pass by around our home in the 14yrs we've been here. They come and go. My kids see things too. I use to actually miss the spirits when they are gone but honestly lately I don't want to see or hear anything.

Nice.

No way! I've never understood that part. I've always been sensitive to spirits and such anyway and I wouldn't want to even go near a home where someone killed so many people!!!

Living in a house where people have died is one thing, but where a family of six were brutally murdered in their beds I don't think so. I wouldn't be able to NOT think about it...especially lying in bed at night.

I don't know if I could. My immediate reaction would be no, probably not. I don't even like being in places where people died, period. Hauntings can occur even if someone didn't die of a murder; murders and suicides though are the absolute darkest ways to die, and I don't know if I could deal with living somewhere where that happened. It would drive me mad.
