I mean it's already a gorgeous looking movie but my god is it spectacular in 4k. How the fuck did Ridley Scott make a movie in the 70's that absolutely blows away most modern looking sci fi films? Absolute magician.

Most movies made using practical effects on real studio sets constructed to look real hold up incredibly well even for today's standards. Green-screen films? Not so much. CGI looks incredibly dated as well, as the fidelity gets exposed in higher resolutions.

But puppets, practical effects, and real sets actually look the best the higher resolution the format is, same thing with Robocop, Silent Running, and Predator.

My buddy said Predator 4k looks pretty good. I'll have to give that a watch soon.

Predator in 4k is pretty outstanding, the best visual presentation. The green of the jungle, the explosions, definitely check it out friend.

I was shocked at how good the models of spacecraft in the old sci-fi program Space 1999 look on blu-ray. I’d expected them to look worse in higher resolution.

A lot of great films were shot in 35mm film stock, but the cameras and aperture types were a big factor as well. We still see this quality in modern times like No Country for Old Men and Tarantino's movies where he refuses to resort to digital photography as the basis for principal photography.
