What if Ash in Alien was David the whole time. Makes more sense where he was keeping tabs on all possible rumors and locations of his weird life science experiments being found by people like The Company or other fools

Ash was unfamiliar with the xenomorph. He didn't know what it was when they found it.

Also, Ash came from a mission that left Earth. David was hella deep in space by that point.
