How many times have you watched it?
As a celebration for Sigourner Weaver's birthday on October 8, I watched Alien for the 6th time.

shareDid not know that was her birthday. Happy belated birthday Ms. Weaver!
As far as how MANY times I've watched it? In honor of each actor I've probably seen it five times for each of them!
I have a copy of Aliens that I taped off of TV, a VHS tape and the special edition DVD. So this is a movie I practically know by heart.
I've watched bits several times.
From start to finish, maybe 3-6 times.
I'm 38 and I've probably seen it right through only about 6 times. I always wait for it to come on TV - there's more of a sense of realistic horror in thinking that many people are potentially being scared at the same thing at the same time. To me, you're not supposed to seek out horror, it's supposed to creep up on you eg in the schedules. The first half of Alien is relatively 1970s - laidback, scene setting, arthouse-esque. The second half more or less invents the rollercoaster 1980s. It's a scary (and also elegant in places) film, particularly Brett's demise and Ash's ejaculation of a death also lends the film a decadently obscene nature.
shareThat IS good way to watch scary movies. October is the month they show a lot of them. I usually find one late at night, start watching, and scare the heck out of myself. LOL
Started watching Pet Sematary late one October night and even though I'd seen it before, it was creeping me out, especially when Church the cat "returned from the dead" and my own cat was sitting on the couch staring at me!
Even though I have several copies of Aliens, I can't resist it when I come across it on the Sci-fi channel.
It might be around a dozen. Which is a lot for me. It's my favorite horror movie.
One of those rare movies I'll go back and revisit every few years. There's just so much to admire about it.
-I was born in a crossfire hurricane.
Haha!
I stopped counting after I reached 150th time.
My careful estimation is +170 now.
It's the movie I've watched the most.
And a masterpiece.
Abso.

I've watched "Alien" around 4-5 times a year since I first got a VHS copy in 1986. I guess that would total somewhere in the 120+ times range. (I don't watch it on VHS anymore, though.) This total includes the "Director's Cut" assemblage, which I've seen many fewer times, obviously.
