Alien 3 or Alien Resurrection?

Which one was better in your opinion?

reply

They’re both terrible, although 3 is actually watchable for the first 20 minutes, until Clemens is killed, then the film falls apart.

Resurrection only has one good scene: the failed Ripley’s clones.

3, slightly.

I like Alien 3. It's grim and nasty and actually a sufficiently different thing from either of the preceding (and better) films that it stands on it's own. Looks great with great performances too. And a stunning musical score (That's 3 for 3... Best scored series around)
Alien Resurrection is a mess. Full of outrageous new ideas that are either interesting (the android underground - extraneous and badly mangled by Winona Ryder and bad writing) or simply stupid (Ripley alien hybrid clone with at least partial memories... The only way to get Sigourney Weaver in...). It does look nice and has some impressive effects - I love the swimming aliens - but too much craziness and too little payoff... Nice score though... I'm going with 4 for 4 and still the best scored series, especially since it's four different composers.

Alien Resurrection all the way!!!

They both are terrible, and a complete insult to the masterpieces that came before them.

Alien Covenant

Alien 3 at least was more of a traditional Alien movie.

Resurrection was an over the top action/comedy that bordered on camp. It was OK, for all that.

Resurrection. If you squint, there's some Whedon-y goodness in there.
