What reason could anyone have to watch this movie nowadays?

It is a well made film featuring good performances by a respected director.

I've never seen the movie, but it could be nuanced, it just depends on the angle it takes.

I have no issues with people watching this film. It's a product of its time, kind of like Blazing Saddles or Police Academy. It's not a "sin" to watch this movie. If you find the nudity distasteful, then don't watch it. Simple as that...

As in life, you'll find plenty of things to complain about, in my view, I find violence in movies more disturbing than underage nudity. But to be fair, I would say that more recent foreign film 'Cuties' is more controversial than this.

That movie touches on a whole new level of inappropriate behavior for minors.

Why wouldn't I watch it? It's an interesting story, well made. When I was a kid in the '50s and '60s it wasn't unusual for young girls who hadn't begun to develop breasts to be topless at swimming pools or playing in the sprinklers on their front lawns. It's no big deal. As for the story in the movie, it's made up, and they're just pretending. So calm down.
