Animal House 10th Anniversary Reunion The Late Show with Ross Shafer 1988

If I have one gripe, I don't exactly agree with the host labeling Dean Wormer as "evil". Yes, Wormer was classified as being the main antagonist (or if you want, villain) in Animal House, but I kind of see Wormer as like Principal Ed Rooney in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

If you were in Wormer's shoes then wouldn't you too likely not tolerate the Delta's endless pranks, hell-raising, and rule-breaking? Wormer himself even says to Flounder "Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son."

Maybe we like to consider Wormer and out and out bad guy because he just comes across like an uptight jerkass or as TV Tropes likes to label it, a "Dean Bitterman". And Wormer does go out of his way to make sure that the Deltas are drafted even after they had already been expelled. So on that end, he was abusing his power so to speak.

And Wormer targets and singles out the Deltas when the Omegas were arguably just as bad in their own (overtly xenophobic, hypocritical cheats, five-on-one Assault & Battery) way if not even worse.
