Do you quote this movie in every day life?

sure, many people quote this movie and the more famous lines.

but do any of you quote the more subtle lines?

"We need the dues" when the agree on Kroger, one guy on the couch in the front row says this. I usually say this when we need some cash for something

I use "double secret probation" fairly frequently, usually to describe when either myself or a co-worker has been slapped around, e.g. - "Yeah Joe really screwed up that deal, probably on double secret probation for a while."

reply

I do.
I like to say, "Hit it!' Just like Otis Day right before I start something.
I say "Mo-ron" just like Stork.
I can't say "Pledge pin" without spitting when I say my "p's".
I'm sure there are more. This is all I can think of.

reply

Whenever someone knocks on a door.
[in falsetto] Who is it?
I'm sorry. You'll have to come back later. I'm doing the dishes.

I'll be in my bunk

reply

Only Caddyshack and Stripes are quoted more by me in everyday life.

"nothing for me, thanks".

"zero... point... zero." (always in a Dean Wormer voice)

"you ****ed up, you trusted us."

"it's gotta work better than the truth."

"sorry" (only after smashing somebody's guitar or something similarly over-the-top).

"thanks, I needed that".

reply

I often use the phrase 'When the Germans bombed Pearl Harbour...', not so much as a reference to the film, but to see if anyone listening actually catches it.

reply

Germans?

reply

Forget it, he's rolling.

"Hogs have futures, I don't."
Dr. Johnny Fever

reply

If I do something as simple as forgetting to pick up an item at the store for my wife I will respond " You F'd up! You trusted me!"

reply

"You guys playing cards?"

reply

"My advice to you is to start drinking heavily." Often said to parents of teenagers.

reply

"You're worthless and weak! Give me 20!"

Also, "was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?"

"Chicken soup - with a *beep* straw."
