Could Brody have done more to warn the public?
He didn’t really do that much to put the word out or suspend water activities. On the day of the attacks, the harbor still seems quite active with small boats sailing around.

shareNo
shareNo. The town would've thwarted whatever efforts he would've put forth, hence the board meeting.
shareHe could’ve made some phone calls to spread the word. It was a small community where everybody knew eachother and it could’ve given people (the divers, Eddie, Marge, etc.) second thoughts about heading out to sea. (“In amity, one man can make a difference.”)
In some sense, he had blood on his hands.
The locals? Sure, but keep in mind Amity made it's money through tourism. Warning a handful of those within the community wouldn't have done any good to deter a massive influx out-of-towners. Especially in those times with no social media lol.
shareHe didn’t even mention the shark to the helicopter pilot. That carelessness cost him his life.
shareIt's been a while but at that point did Brody know that Michael and co. snuck out to sea? I'm just wondering whether he had known to forewarn the pilot.
shareBrody instructed the pilot to set out and search for the sailing party. He damn well knew there was a shark on the loose. He just couldn’t be bothered to tell him.
Imdb trivia: “The chopper pilot had no idea there was a shark nearby. Brody didn't mention it, neither did ANY of the kids.”
How much more could he have done?! It's always pissed me off that the town's government don't believe him, after all that happened in the first movie. Like he nearly died, he watched Quint get eaten, they had to swim back without a boat, like Jesus people it doesn't take Einstein to work out the man's being serious!
shareHe should have learned from his experience in the first movie to take a different approach and be more persuasive. His failure to convince the Mayor led to more deaths.
