Does anyone sort of think that asking if those culprits deserved to die is sort of missing the point?

And that, yeah, maybe they should've been turned over to law instead, and perhaps in some cases they would've and end of story but, at the same time, even though we can understand why Jennifer did what she did, whether she was right and whether or not they deserved to violently be killed for their deed isn't quite the point being made with this movie.

But even so, no matter how we ULTIMATELY feel about it, as civilized human beings mind you and not some mere ignorant animals of the particularly say dominating type of male gender, we can still watch this movie and perhaps appreciate it for other points and merits even with its over the top exploitative overall nature.

Questions.

For people you say are "missing the point" . . what was the point?

To that end, what are the other "points and merits?"
