Does vengeance of this nature ACTUALLY bring victims 'closure'?

Of such deed as the r-worded deed and sexual abuse in general, but particularly a brutal one like portrayed in this movie, perpetuated by a gang of men and several times during one day.

We can argue and many have for ions about how terrible, wrong and unforgivable rapists especially serial rapists in general are. How hurt and humiliated the victims are. How culprits of course DO deserve punishment and mustn't get away with it and even, if they are complete and utter psychos or potentially as such in these and other areas, they shouldn't do it in the first place, and that's a given.

But does revenge of this nature involving torture, male sexual organ maiming and outright killing them actually helps such victims recover or even at least feel BETTER, if they know the law is helpless and even if they know or suspect such perps will do it again, does it actually help and bring closure and even slightly lessen trauma, if for instance, the act doesn't kill or cripple them for life, does it reduce the possibility of, in this case, female, victim suffering from such trauma for all their life?

Regardless of what the law or society say on this matter. Even if vigilante vengeance like this even against THOSE folks is actually illegal as well, but if administered and maybe even pardoned somehow, does it really help? Cheers.

P.S. And even if it does NOT, then why do not only some people sometimes do it or think of doing it but some even BELIEVE it DOES?

OK, yes, no, nobody knows?

And also... If the answer MOSTLY here IS "no"...

Why DO many people wholeheartedly believe it DOES? Is it like a total myth that has been factually disproven? Or is there some truth to it that it does to an extent? Or is there no completely right answer?

Regardless of whether we not (in most people's opinion) those culprits may deserve it.
