Weird that if it wasn't for Lucille Ball this movie wouldn't exist
Because there would be no STAR TREK...and no Captain Kirk mask...no iconic Michael Myers mask.

shareSure it would have. It just would've been a different mask. Emmett Kelley clown or some other weird creepy looking thing.
Heck, Shatner might have been popular in something else and still got a mask of his face made, same deal, different circumstances.
"He came home." - Dr. Sam Loomis from the original HalloweeN
Well it wouldn't be the same movie now would it? Considering it was a STAR TREK mask...
So I doubt it would have worked.
It still would have worked, we are just used to seeing the existing mask.
The mask described in the novel actually sounds creepier. It has a purple hue around the eyes and red lips against a white face. The characters actually aren't sure if it's a mask or a pale person with tired-looking circles under their eyes and unusually red lips. The fact they can't directly tell if it's a mask or not is disturbing.
I remember. Indeed it was creepier and a better concept.

Dear Star Trek hipster, it wasn't a Kirk mask, it was a mask from "The Devil's Rain" that starred William Shatner.

Hmm...since there's old advertisements of it being a Kirk mask along with a Spock mask...get your facts straight.
sharePlus everyone involved with the film called it a Captain Kirk Star Trek mask.

No it's weird that you think you had an interesting or original thought, because it's totally wrong.
The original production had a Shatner mask AND an Emmett Kelly clown mask. Either would have been used and worked, or yet another mask would have been used.
Lame.
can somebody please tell me what lucille ball has to do with anything?

I think she created the Star Trek series
shareI don't think just any mask would do though. They made the right choice.
