It didn't seem all that persuasive to me. First he accordions the rear end of the Mercedes against the back wall -- CRUNCH! -- then he smashes the front end the same way. WHAM!!

Hardly a demonstration of precision driving.

It wasn't an audition. The driver was insulted he had to audition to get the job. Like asking Di Caprio to audition for a role.
So he proceeded to destroy their car.
