The sickest scene during the early Russian Roulette sequences...

..is when after the South Vietnamese officer shoots himself in the head and is lying dying(obviously fatally wounded), one of the Viet Cong soldiers puts his foot on the gushing head-wound in order to slow the blood flow down and prolong the officer's agony/death.

Will somebody get this big walking carpet out of my way?!

In the remake/reboot they make a fresh Bloody Mary out of it and everyone cheers.

I don't think bleeding out is what kills you when you get shot in the head

And he wasn't dead yet. If he was dead, his heart would have stopped pumping so the blood would not have gushed out of his head like water from a garden hose (which it clearly did in that scene).

I always assumed the idea was to prevent the blood from gushing all over the place, like onto his clothes or the table.
