1960s:
BEST: On Her Majesty's Secret Service or From Russia With Love - I can't decide which one I like better. They both have so much merit.
WORST: Thunderball - Still a quite good film, just not as good as the other early Bond films.

1970s:
BEST: The Spy Who Loved Me - Far and away, the best Roger Moore film.
WORST: Moonraker - Still enjoyable and not as horrid as some people will have you believe.

1980s:
BEST: Licence to Kill - Easily the most underrated Bond film. Dalton's not bad, just different than what people were used to. The film is very serious and a great action thriller. Not very Bondish however.
WORST: Octopussy - The mere fact that Bond wears a clown suit in this makes it the worst one.

1990s:
BEST: GoldenEye - Sean Bean is one of the best villains of the series and the closest thing to an evil Bond.
WORST: The World is Not Enough - There's only there to choose from and this one is weaker than Tomorrow Never Dies mostly due to Denise Richards' godawful performance.

2000s:
BEST: Casino Royale - Best of the series. The kind of Bond Ian Fleming originally imagined.
WORST: Die Another Day - The low point of all Bond. Very, very disappointing.

OHMSS is arguably the best bond movie IMO.. Lazenby is a great bond, most people just cant see past the fact its not Connery and automatically hate on this movie. Let me ask you this, replace Lazenby with Connery, how would you see this movie?

Exactly. But the funny thing is... it's mostly either rated best or worst. And you can pretty much tell, the ones that rate it best, have gotten over the fact that Lazenby is in the lead and the ones that rate it worst, can get over the fact that they don't like Lazenby, since he's the odd man out, who only did 1 movie and kinda "stole" that one from Connery.

Am I the only person who liked Never Say Never Again?

I can't believe all the hate for "Thunderball"! I was shocked at how good it was when I saw it last year on some random cable channel. That got me interested in old Bond movies again.

I just saw the Dalton Bonds. I really liked "The Living Daylights" and "License to Kill" was pretty decent with some marvelous stunts (both movies had them). I was really impressed with Dalton actually.

I'll give an incomplete examination of the best and worst of Bond since I need to revisit the entire series again...

60s

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is the greatest Bond film - in history. No other film even comes close to this masterpiece and I think it benefits from having Lazenby and not Connery. With Connery in the film I doubt they had even killed Tracy in the end. It would not have fitted Connery.

Difficult to pick one film that was worst in the 1960's as in my opinion they were all good but I think I will have to say You Only Live Twice.

70s

The 1970's best film has to The Spy Who Loved Me.
The worst film is The Man With the Golden Gun - no question about it.

80s

The greatest film of the 1980's is probably The Living Daylights although I quite like all the films in the 1980's. I think For Your Eyes Only is the greatest Moore film and Dalton is my all time favourite Bond and thus his two films are both in my top ten.

The worst film has to be Octopussy (I don't count Never Say Never Again as a Bond film) and that is much worse than A View To A Kill which I quite like. To see Moore hang in the firetruck to him (at the age of almost 60) battling on the Golden Gate Bridge (a scene I find really enjoyable). It's not as bad people say.

The 1990's best film is difficult to pick as I didn't care that much for GoldenEye. But as that is still most Fleming like with a brilliant villain in Sean Bean I probably say that it's the greatest film. TWINE is probably the worst and has of course very little do with the character of Bond. And Marceau and Carlyle are terrible villains - they're worse than Denise Richards.

And finally in the 21st century Casino Royale is the greatest and Die Another Day worst alhough I quite like it in all its silliness.
