I was never sure if Fred really bit one of the bikers or if they were looking for a way to start a fight with Cledus.

Fred never bit anyone. The bikers were looking for a fight

I remember as a kid I hated the scene where the bikers beat Cledus up, I did like the following scene where Cledus runs over their bikes, it was great seeing the bikers get their comeuppance

They were a$$holes just looking to cause trouble. Fred never bit anyone in his life.
